Lei que foi sancionada pelo governador, zera a cobrança do imposto desses produtores, que anteriormente era de 7%
O governador do Estado, Renato Casagrande, sancionou uma lei que isenta a cobrança do Imposto sobre Circulação de Mercadorias e Serviços (ICMS) sobre o arroz e feijão no Estado do Espírito Santo.

A nova lei, de autoria do deputado estadual Alexandre Xambinho (PL), foi publicada na edição desta segunda-feira (29) do Diário Oficial do Estado e já entrou em vigor. Pelo texto, a alíquota anterior para esses produtos era de 7% e agora está zerada.
Segundo Xambinho, a medida pretende baratear o custo destes alimentos para as famílias.

“Diante das dificuldades econômicas que a população do nosso estado está vivendo em razão da epidemia do coronavírus, propus a medida para colar o benefício de Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo e isentar a carga tributária desses alimentos tão essenciais na mesa de todo cidadão capixaba”, justificou o deputado.
“A elevação do preço dos itens da cesta básica, como o arroz e feijão – tão consumidos pelos brasileiros – afetou a todos, principalmente, aqueles que mais necessitam. Com a redução do ICMS, espera-se que o preço ao consumidor seja reduzido, tornando a cesta básica mais barata. Essa ação se soma a outras que estamos adotando diante do atual contexto de insegurança alimentar, como a prorrogação do Cartão ES Solidário por mais dois meses, beneficiando cerca de 87 mil famílias capixabas”, afirmou o governador.
A proposta foi de autoria conjunta do Deputado Alexandre Xambinho e do governo do Estado, com objetivo de beneficiar a população capixaba.
